Nourishment forest and field
For fertile grounds
Our limestone powder used in agriculture or forestry neutralizes fields and forest grounds, optimizes the pH value and enhances the nutrient storage. Each year, a hectare of fields needs roughly 300 to 450 kg of CaO. The KFN product nekafor® 15 naturally sees to it that excessive acid is neutralized and valuable calcium is added. Our high-class limestone powder, used regularly, enhances the soil reaction. Humus starts to build again, the fertility increases. If quicklime such as KFN’s nekasol® 2 is added, the physical characteristics of the topsoil are also improved. The ground is loosened, even after heavy rainfall its surface will neither silt up nor become incrusted.
Livestock breeding and hygiene
Disinfection and animal feed fortification
KFN lime is also indispensable in livestock breeding. In animal stables our lime hydrate is used for disinfection and thus helps to prevent animal pests. KFN’s ground lime certified for feed- and food uses according to ISO 22000, in the form of CaCO3 can be used to fortify animal feed with calcium.
Environment protection
For air, water and soils
Roughly 25 % of the 90,000 metric tons of lime produced by KFN are used for environment protection purposes. nekapur® 2 removes acidic contaminants from flue gas and heavy metals from waste waters. Additionally, nekapur® 2 also helps in the hardening in local sewage treatment plants and softens drinking water and water used for industrial purposes.
