About each fifth Swiss Franc of KFN's investment into re-structuring and new building projects is for environmental protection: the charging and de-dusting plant for the SOW kilns, noise reduction measures at the mill building, replacement of one oil fired Fiedler kiln and both Beckenbach kilns by one efficient parallel flow regenerative shaft kiln, the new water purification and sludge treatment plant.

Other big investments have been the construction of the new pre-crushing, aggregate production and filler grinding plant, as well as the erection of the lab and storage building, the most actual investments being the rebuilding of the administration house and the new hydration plant in combination with a new central bagging and palletizing plant.
