With responsibility into the new millennium

In 1994, Netstal's community agreed with the quarry extension into the "Sattel" direction, and with the detailed environmental compatibility report.
The extraction project is subdivided into five stages, each extraction period lasting 15 years in medium.

Different from the existing quarry, the extraction is not proceeded top-down but bottom-up. The new quarry has been designed to provide an integration into the landscape following each individual extraction period by domestic plants. The old quarry is no longer used for extraction, but as a landfill site and for the re-cultivation of the new quarry area in the south.
